I pretty much a novice and have recieved alot of help from u guys.
So if I can help any1 with this even though no1 has asked for it !
Anyway I wrote what is a relatively simple macro. I realised that text to columns was great but there wasn't an equivalent text to rows. Ok I deal at work with an vehicle application database and all the time we get compressed data i.e. where say the engine type is the only difference between vehicle descriptions and e.g. say it's like DA, DB, DD, DE etc. So in our data we want that single line split into four line showing DA on the 1st line DB on the 2nd and so on.
All you do is make a move of the column with the compressed data in it to column A the macro asks you for the deliminator u hit the go button watch the macro generate all the addition lines and move column A back to its original position - Job done.
If any1 is interested I'll happierly sent the macro file
Cheers and Merry Xmas - Ace
