Specify chart template size - Excel 2007

When I create a chart template in Excel 2007 and then use the template to create a new chart, the new chart size is always a default 3.0" X 5.0". Even if I 'Save As Template' at a specific size (e.g., 4" X 6") the new charts are still generated at the default chart size (3.0" X 5.0").

Does anyone know how to get round this problem?

Thanks

P.S.
I don't seem to be the only one with this problem. This link is to someone else with the same question, but no answers:
