Hi, I am not sure if this is possible, but I would like to create passwords for specific Excel users.

Basically I have a list of about 10 people, that need to be able to electroncially sign-off Excel documents. Only these people will be able to edit a worksheet, anyone else would have read only. So there would be a userform prompt upon opening which asks for one of the 10 passwords. Then, once they click a macro button and formally sign a cell (with an associated date/time stamp), they can lock the worksheet again.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Terry

Hello

I would not bother with inputting passwords. Do a test on the Windows username and see if it matches one of those 10.
For the username, you have 3 possibilities:

Application.UserName
Environ("username")
CreateObject("Wscript.Network").UserName
