I hope that this is not too dopey a question.
I have a column containing a variation of UK postcodes where there can be 1 or 2 letters and 2 numbers grouped together like DE74 or E7 followed by a space and a further digit like DE74 2 and E7 9 but I am having trouble searching specifically for E7 only.
As ever any help would be appreciated

If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Hi lapta301,

Have you tried using filters?

Apply filter to column

1) Use drop-down

2) Text Filters

3) Equals

4) Type E7

5) Press OK

KeyBoard Short-Cut in Filter Column (Top Cell) use Alt( [ArrowDown] + F + E) replaces 1 - 3 above eg Alt( [ArrowDown] + F + E) then type E7 press OK

Hope this helps

Hi,

Not sure what you're trying to do, but to pinpoint the result to Only E7 with the SEARCH function, do it this way:

Book1
AB
1DE74 2FALSE
2E7 9TRUE
3DE74FALSE
4E7TRUE
5DE7 4FALSE
Sheet346
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
B1=ISNUMBER(SEARCH(" E7 "," "&A1&" "))
