Hi

The below is a set of data which I have where the sname is sorted in a particular sequence.

Abcd....z0123456789

So the record are sorted first with alphabet character and then by number.

But when I try to sort the same in Excel it doesn't work according to the above order.

Please Suggest how to sort according to the given order.

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
not sure I am following as the 5th character changes from letters to numbers so that may be what is throwing it, but appears to sort as desired if you format the cells as text

Hi Eric,

Thank You for the response.

I have more than 15000 unique records like that, and I don't want to mess up the order.

I even tried to break the records individually in different column and tried to sort it but still the same issue.

It's sorting the numbers first and then sorting the alphabets.
