I have the code and it only works when I am on this sheet. How do I change it to work specifically for this sheet?

Most of all, show the code.
Secondly, explain what "this sheet" means and also what "specifically this sheet" means as opposed to just "this sheet".
Do you want the code to only work on a specific sheet and not on other sheets or on any sheet that is the active sheet at any time?
