Hi

Anyway this formula can ignore blanks? I can get other variations to work and ignore blanks but by only using one column and not two.

Excel Formula:
=UPPER(SORT(UNIQUE('MATCH DETAILS'!C8:D1000)))

Thanks

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Do you mean blanks in col C, in D, both?

Can you post some sample data along with expected results?

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

Yes, any blanks in both C&D.

As its stands the formula is doing what I want except there are blank rows in the range I've used in the formula, and its pulling these blanks as returning it as an unique value.

As for XL2BB it used to work for me before but I had to uninstall as it was causing problems with excel when I had a new desktop. Maybe I will try install it again but in the mean time thats the best I can add.
Cheers

Ok, how about
Excel Formula:
=UPPER(SORT(UNIQUE(FILTER('MATCH DETAILS'!C8:D1000,'MATCH DETAILS'!C8:C1000<>""))))

Solution
excellent, seems to have done the trick. In terms of XL2BB Im getting a message "This file type is not supported in protected view". I know this isn't the place to discuss that here, I'll look that up later on, so thanks for providing a solution to my problem.
