Hi all,
I have a task list with task deadline times using the default time format. A night shift runs 19:00:00 until 07:00:00. When sorting the time column it sorts in numerical/time order (as expected!!) rather than deadline order from 19:00:00 onwards. My question is how to make excel understand my data in the sense that I want 19:00:00 to be the start of the sort order. There are no dates in the table and I do not want a date column.

Will you be wanting to edit data in some columns of the sorted list or is this just for viewing purposes?

Yes some columns have drop down selections and some have text. I may also want to add or remove entries at a later date.
You don't need a seperate date column. The column with the time will do fine. Just add one date for before midnight and the next days date for after midnight and have a number format of HH:MM:SS.

Works a treat, thanks v much. I did try something like this already but obviously didn't have it quite right. Simple stuff always stumps me more than the more complicated things!!
