I would like to copy a table from a worksheet into another worksheet, and have the information in the second table be sorted on the basis of a text column. Both worksheets are to be protected. I can do this for a limited number of letters, but if the text could be ranked (like using the RANK function for numbers), I could make it work for much longer text strings. Any help would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi,

What does "text column" stand for?

Since workbook-protection is involved the only way is to use VBA for unlocking, do the work and the look the sheets again.

To provide You with a VBA-solution the board need more information about the specific conditions You have.

Kind regards,
Dennis
