Sort and filter problem

I have a spreadsheet for each of the 3 small stores I own. One part of each simply calculates the frequency with which each item in store sells. I want to compare these sales indices so have a consolidated spreadsheet in to which I = the calculated indices. Trouble is each time I sort the the three store spreadsheets, the consolidated one messes up. Any advice please?

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
Keep all data together - in 1 table with additional column to indicate the store. Then present the data any way you like on as many sheets you want using tables, charts, pivot tables etc.
But never link the formulas to a specific cell - use column references or table field names to avoid confusion of data during sorts.

Best way to analyze data is when it all comes from 1 consistent source - everything else is unreliable and extremely hard to build and maintain properly.
