Dear All fellow Excellers....
Well, after weeks (on and off), I have 'FINALLY' managed to get the HTML Maker to work, (no not the VB one, the Forum HTML Maker from OneDrive).
Firstly, my system;
PC - LotsGb Ram
OS - W10 (x64) – 64 Bit crucial for memory intensive operations
Office Pro - 2013
I have read many posts across numerous forums regarding the problem of HTML Maker not appearing on the Excel Menu Ribbon after installation. I have been unable to find a solution anywhere until I read this post: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-...ost-nice-screen-shot-mr-excel-html-maker.html
Note: the title of the post above (where I found some assistance) is by no means related to (TAGS) HTML Maker not showing in ribbon; HTML Maker Not Working; HTML Maker active and trusted but not working….etc., so please don’t say, “Why didn’t you just google it?” – I DID, it was pure luck that I found Caribeiro77’s post.

Once you are done taking screen shots (HTML Maker), then be sure re-start your other add-ins so that you regain full functionality of your Excel worksheets that utilise any add-ins that you may have installed previously.
After finishing HTML Maker work re-check all add-ins[/U]

To the forum moderators;
This is so important guys/girls, there are so many Mr. Excel.com forum readers and contributors out there who are having similar trouble with the HTML Maker Add-In. This needs to be at the very least, a sticky for a few weeks so that everyone can benefit from the solution I discovered works for me.
Perhaps a mention of the successful method to ensure that HTML Maker actually works on everyone’s PC could be mentioned on Jon von der Heyden page here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/about-board/508133-attachments.html#post2545970.
It is such a simple step, that I believe has been overlooked, to get HTML Maker to load within excel. After all, if Mr. Excel appears to endorse HTML Maker (I have noticed many times where users haven’t used HTML Maker during their posts and they are chastised for it unnecessarily by more experienced forum users), then perhaps a more thorough approach and instructional technique could be put up on the forum (I am volunteering – let me know). Admittedly, every single user’s scenario will be different to every other user however, if we can at least think and expand on the knowledge base further, then we can surely allow a better experience within the forum….it is a wonderful forum but we need to support our own.

(as a side note: it is interesting to note that 'after' I have managed to get HTML Maker to activate/load, after re-checking all the previous add-ins, HTML Maker tab still appears and is working!)

The steps I went through in order to try to get HTML Maker to work;
- I followed the instructions here: (refer to linkbacks below) (didn’t work, HTML Maker still not showing on Menu Ribbon);
- ......and watched Gerry's video here: (well done GerryZ) (refer to linkbacks below) (didn’t work, HTML Maker still not showing on Menu Ribbon);
- Viewed and set Trust Settings through the Excel Options Ribbon from Menu | File | Options | Trust Centre, then;
- Trust access to the VBA Project Object Model set to “ticked” (didn’t work, HTML Maker still not showing on Menu Ribbon);
- Show Add-In User Interface Errors set to “ticked” (didn’t work, HTML Maker still not showing on Menu Ribbon);
- Customize Ribbon selection, click on ‘show all tabs’, then check for Add-Ins to see if HTML Maker is there…..Nup, not there! (frustration);
- As an avid programmer, thinking laterally, I thought by moving the HTMLMakerxxxx.xla add-in to the normal trusted location of all Office 15 add-ins (located here on my PC: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\library), then re-loading the add-in via the Manage Add-Ins dialogue via ‘browse’ (see below for example), that somehow Excel would see the add-in and load it. Nup, nadda, (didn’t work, HTML Maker still not showing on Menu Ribbon).
The Actual Working Solution;
- From within Excel, go to File | Options Ribbon | Add-Ins;
- Scroll to bottom of Add-Ins dialogue box, look for Manage: Drop List = Excel Add-Ins, then click Go;
- Add-Ins dialogue box appears, if you then have ‘any’ other add-ins other than HTML Maker active (i.e. ticked), UNTICK them all….then ensure that HTML Maker is still ticked, then…..
- ……wait for Excel to burp a few times, then voila!!! The Add-In tab appears as if by magic. Yayyy, cheers, clapping blah blah.
Working Solution [/U]
