Slow running time on network

Hi

I run a set of queries on a database on a local
drive and they take about 5 seconds to run.

When the database is ported to the network,
the same queries take 180 seconds to
run.

All the data needed for processing is contained
within the database.

This problem has only started in the past week
or so ( the database is 11mb in size and has been
running on the network for the past 6 months )

Any ideas ?

Tks

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Sometimes the speed difference between "local" and "remote" can be scary.
You could try compacting a repairing the database. Tools | Database Utilities | Compact and Repair Database. If you have recently cleaned out a lot of data, or if you just haven't done the compaction for a while, this little routine can make a difference to your database's stability, size and network performance.
