Good Morning,

I need help with an equation to finish my skills matrix. I want the calculate the hour rate of pay to increase for every skill greater than 1.

Each skill has a total of 4 levels.
Level 1 = Basic
Level 2 = Performs with help
Level 3 = Performs well
Level 4 = Trainer
So let say Fred starts as a new employee at $14.00 per hour. His minimum skill to operate is 14 (1 point for each skill).
6 months later Fred had progressed to 2's and 3's on his skills matrix. Each point greater than 1 is worth $.011 each. The maximum points that can be achieved is 56.

Cell E8 is the skills award calculation (Skills points earned)
Cell D8 = Current wage ($14.00 hand typed)
Cells G8-T8 are the actual skills (each cell has a data validation list values 1-4)
Cell U8 is the total points accumulated (sum of all points)
I want the equation to add each skills point greater than 1 and multiply it by the $.011

This way I can demonstrate a succession plan to earn more $ for each training and or skill improved.

Thoughts?

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Maybe i'm not understanding what you need but it seems to me you can simply use
=(U8-14)*0.11
