Simplifying Data Entry

 I am struggling with what I think should be a simple problem, but I've tried several different things, all of which *almost* worked.

I've set up a simple database for customer information. My client wants to be able to type in a customer name and if it is already in the database, to open their record for editing, and if not, to enter it into a new record.

This forum was highly recommended to me by one of the people I asked for help and I can see there are a lot of experts here so I hope someone will be able to help me with this.

Thank you (I hope)!!!

Janet
