I am trying to create a table that sums two other fields into a third. I am not sure if this can be done without a query...but if it can, does anyone know how? I am currently trying to place the expression within the defaut value such as =[IntShares] + [curPrice per Share]. Everytime I try to go back to the table it says ut doesnt recognize IntShares as a field or something. Anyway, am I barking up the wrong tree here? Thank you!! for any help.

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
You cannot calculate fields in a table. You must do that in a query. You can use an Action Query (like an Update or Append Query) if you want to store the calculated result back to a field in a table. However, it will not automatically update if you change one of the values used in the sum unless you re-run the Action Query.
