Simple pivot table Driving Daniel Crazy.

This is incredibly frustrating. I'm simply trying to add a report filter to a pivot table. I want it to look like the following table. Instead the report filter appears above the pivot table and refuses to filter. In cell A2 the formula would be =GETPIVOTDATA("YACCT",$A$9), to count each number of YAACT accounts per company. Alas i can get nowhere near it. I'm essentially trying to replicate an existing pivot table but the other one seems to work differently with the filter within the table and mine above it. I know this is very vague but I'm caught and can't seem to upload pics. Needless to say not a pro.

you can post a small sample of your raw data and how your PT is organized. you might as well include what version of Excel you are using and what you would like to see in your PT, thus would allow members to give you more accurate feedback and suggestions.
