Simple Addition Errors in DAX

On occasion when refreshing data in the tables, I will see huge errors in simple addition formulas such as the below:

=[Max Inventory Value]+[Min Inventory Value]

Once I delete the formula, enter, and repost the formula, it corrects itself. Does anyone know why this would be the case? Is there a better way to post a formula like that to not get this error?

Thanks,
CN

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Robert, thanks for your reply. I don't actually see an error message. It's that the formula itself is producing an error. I usually don't see this issue in more complex formulas, however simple formulas like the one mentioned above will occasionally produce the error below.

Yes, that is the issue that I am seeing. This usually happens when I have many Calculated Columns in the same sheet. It usually fixes itself when I copy and repaste the exact same formula, but it could lead to errors if I don't catch the issue. I'm wondering if this is something that happens to other people, and if using simple addition formulas work differently than how I would expect in PowerPivot.

Unfortunately, the error does not happen every time, so it's not something that I have ready access too. When it comes up again, I will post the data.

Really, I was hoping there was a problem with using simple addition equations in PowerPivot.

Thank you for your response.

Sounds like your PP is up the swannee, it shouldn't do that. I would uninstall and re-install if I were you.
