Shut off email notification of Subscribed Threads

I'm trying to shut off email notification to my subscribed threads. I like having the threads in the subscription for quick reference, but I don't want to get an email every time it changes. I do not have "notification" checked on any threads. I have shut off every notification I can in my profile, but I still get "So and so has replied to this thread" style stuff.

How do I shut this off?

go to the UserCP - Edit Option
set the Default Thread Subscription Mode
to No email notification
