I'm facing a minor bug, due to some unknown reasons shortcut for refreshing excel spreadsheet, CTRL+F5 isn't working. Using the key restores down the workbook instead of refreshing the sheet. I tried to restore the settings and reinstall the window for removing the bug but still facing the same issue. Need some helpful insight how to resolve this minor bug from my senior fellows. thank you

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Yes, it might work, but it is to recalculate our workbook, I'm trying to bring back shortcut for the worksheet, earlier it was working but what is surprising to me is that even after reinstalling the window and resetting the entire setup still facing the same problem, in hindsight I think I did some changes in Advanced Keyboard Setting for the unhide column shortcut as it wasn't working, after tackling that problem now this issue surface to me.

Thanks for the feedback. According to Microsoft CTRL+F5 is to Restore Down which is the result you are getting.

Yes, it is, but according to Microsoft it can be also used for refreshing the data.

Keyboard shortcuts for refreshing external data

Use the following keys to refresh data from external data sources.

To do thisPress
Stop a refresh operation.Esc
Refresh data in the current worksheet.Ctrl+F5
Refresh all data in the workbook.Ctrl+Alt+F5

For restore down we can use Window logo key+Down Arrow but we also need a key for refreshing our spreadsheet especially when we use excel frequently.

That is bizarre that they would re-use the same shortcut for different purposes. It must have something to do with what object has the focus.

I think it should be Alt F5 & not Ctrl F5

Yes, indeed it is bizarre and mind boggling to see them assigning the same shortcut for two different tasks. Have frequently used CTRL+F5 as a refresher earlier, still the shortcut is working to refresh / reload a browser but mysteriously can't refresh a worksheet.
