Hi all. What is wrong with this code? It might be an expression issue. My code isn't running.

Sub Test()
Dim x As Long
'test range
For x = 134 To 140
'instead of range, should I be using .cell("F" & x).Value?
If ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x).Value <> ActiveSheet.Range("E" & x).Value
ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x, "I" & x).Select
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove
End If
Next
End Sub

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
You are missing the THEN statement in your IF clause.

Rich (BB code):
Sub Test()
Dim x As Long
'test range
For x = 134 To 140
'instead of range, should I be using .cell("F" & x).Value?
If ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x).Value <> ActiveSheet.Range("E" & x).Value Then
ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x, "I" & x).Select
Selection.Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove
End If
Next
End Sub

There's no need to Select.

Code:
Sub Test()
Dim x As Long
'test range
For x = 134 To 140
'instead of range, should I be using .cell("F" & x).Value?
If ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x).Value <> ActiveSheet.Range("E" & x).Value Then
ActiveSheet.Range("F" & x, "I" & x).Insert Shift:=xlDown, CopyOrigin:=xlFormatFromLeftOrAbove
End If
Next
End Sub
