sheet unprotects with doubleclick

hi
i have a password protected sheet and process. somehow column headers are chnaged despite protection because of the forms that allow double clicks
this seems to unprotect the sheet
i dont know what to do to keep them protected

Do you have a macro on your sheet that gets triggered with a double-click? Look for this:

i commented it out and it still triggers the unprotect

So, your worksheet is protected, you double-click on that sheet, and now it is unprotected? If so, you still have a macro running. Please make sure the code you found was on the sheet in question.

You could also have a macro in the "ThisWorkbook" module with an event macro like this:

i searched the entire project for souble click
only 1 instance
i commented it out and it still triggers
what else can i look for since i allow dtaa entry to the rest of that column

When you protect the sheet are you protecting the columns or allowing column changes? Leaving it unchecked prevents users from changing the column size, inserting, or deleting.

Change the password when you protect the sheet and see if the macro can unprotect that!!! The macro will stop on that line.

Well rjmdc, there is no way for a sheet to unprotect itself. When you protected the sheet, did you add a password?
