Sheet cell reference

I have multiple sheets in my workbook. The first sheet ("Sheet1") is the main sheet in which cells from this sheet points to other cells, either ("Sheet2, Sheet3, Sheet4 or Sheet5") I want to be able to replace, say, Sheet2 with another sheet of the same Sheet name ("Sheet2") and still have cells in Sheet1 point to the new cells in Sheet2. Is there a way to do this without manually going back into Sheet1 and linking the cell references to the new Sheet2?

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
Try using the INDIRECT function in your links e.g.

=INDIRECT("Sheet2!A1")

The INDIRECT function converts a text string into a cell reference. The text string wont change if you make a new Sheet2. It will always reference the sheet that is named Sheet2.
