Hello guys,
can you please help me with the below issue I am facing.

We have got an excel file saved in network server and shared for editing by multiple users.
Generally it works fine but sometime when trying to save after doing some edits it says the file is read only and to save changes save a local version. because of this the changes are required to be done in the shared file.
This is happening with multiple users and randomly.

can someone suggest the possible reasons and solutions for this issue??

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Possible reason is improper closing of the file, for instance someone has it open on the laptop and then disconnects the laptop to go home. Or even sometimes when moving through the office and switching from one router to another.

No doubt there are other possible reasons.
