Hay guys im fairly new to MS access more so than excel but i find excel makes the whole process quite difficult and ugly to look at.

Basically 6 people live in my house each pay $80 rent per week some pay fortnightly no one pays on the same day.

Total rent each fortnight is $700 dollars the $260 extra per fortnight goes into bills.

I am after a system that allows people to input their name or select it and enter the amount of rent they paid. And it will track if anyone is behind or how much total extra money there is for bills / extras at any given time.

Is this type of thing more suited to excel sheet or an access database.

And if anyone has done something similar or knows of a tool could the point me in the right direction ?

many thanks my real estate agent thanks you

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Try the built-in Expenses template that ships with Access.
File | New, select General Templates, and when the dialog opens choose the Databases tab and the Expenses option. Follow the prompts adn you'll have a functional database that should meet your needs.
