How can I get Access to number the results of a query?

Let's say I run a query on 100 contacts to find the 10 records where the state is PA. When I run a PA report based on these results, I want the records numbered 1 through 10. Is this doable? Can I get the numbers to appear in my query? Form? Report?

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
In the detail section of your report, create a text box. In the properties of that text box, name it RecordCount, Control Source =1, and under Running Sum, select over all. This should number your items.
