Sent "private messages" not in out box

I've sent several private messages to members, but they don't show up as having been sent. Have they been sent. Am I doing something wrong?

I believe that depends on whether or not the recipient has read the message - although I could be wrong........

I did a little searching to double-check, and it looks like a setting got changed in an upgrade(?) so that messages were not saved to the 'sent' folder by default. I have turned this option back on, so it should be fixed now.
