I am trying to fill the blanks in Column B with the last Value ie rows 8099 to 8109 would be filled with 607 Rows 8111 to 8121 would be filled with a value of 608. The number of cells that are blank and the spacing between them are not constants. Any Ideas?

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
Select column B and then goto Edit>Goto...>Special... and pick blanks.

Then enter = and press the up key in the formula bar then press CTRL+ENTER.

Selective Filling

Norie thanks alot for the quick response.

I used the GoTo Special , chose the blank option , all of the Blanks in hte column are now highlighted.
I go to the formula bar and it takes the "=" ok , but won't take the up, I also tried CNTL+UP and END+UP it won't thake those either when I hit the CNTL+ENTER it fills the blanks with "="

Any suggestions?

Al

Well select the first cell of data in the column, B8098 in your example.

Selective Filling

=B$8098

I set the value as above and it populated all of the blanks with the value "607", I need it to populate with the last value above that particular blank cell.

Sorry to be pain and thanks again Al

This method definitely works.

Why have you set an absolute reference to row 8098?

=B8098

Norie, I had three header rows at the top of the column Two contained blanks, It was throwing off the Reference. I copied the column to a new sheet deleted the header rows and tried it again and it worked thanks, you are a godsend. Al
