Selecting blank cells is also selecting untouched column next to data

Good morning everyone,

I am working with a rather larger dataset of a single column of calculated values. These values each have 3 blank cells in between each entry. The column in its entirety (including the blank cells) is roughly 100,000 lines long. I am attempting to select all blank cells so I can delete them. I am using the "Find & Select > Special > Blanks" to achieve this. However whenever I use this function, it also selects the entirety of the completely empty and unused column B in addition to column A (where all the data is). This huge amount of selections crashes the app whenever I attempt to delete all the selected blank cells.

My question is: Why is excel selecting all of column B too? It is completely untouched, and doubles the selection size. I suspect that I'll be able to run the function if I can only select blank cells in column A.

Follow up: Is there another, less error-prone method available for me to select and delete all these unused cells?

I appreciate any help with regards to this problem.

Thank you

This was the problem, lol. Guess I'll grab my dunce cap for the day.

Thanks for the help!
