Hello,
I have a file I use for a production schedule. Part of it is in a 12 month gantt chart format with an 'x' used on the day the task is scheduled.
I have other columns which I use to display the actual date the task is scheduled. Currently this is manual, and I would like to use a formula to scan the range within the gantt chart row for the non empty cell, and then return the date that is displayed in row 2 of the same column. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks.

Welcome to the MrExcel board!

For the future:
MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB Add-in

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

Put this formula in all cells in the range B3:F7.

=IF($A3=B$2,OFFSET($A3,-(ROW()-2),MATCH(TRUE,INDEX(($H3:$AK3<>0),0),0)+6),"")
