Security Scan Plus

Somehow I ended up with a program on my computer call McAfee Security Scan Plus. I guess I downloaded it with another program. Does anyone know anything about this product. I don't really think I want (or need) more malware protection. But before I hit remove software I'm wondering about it ...

xenou, seems like one of those "windows malicious software removal tools" type of free things - trimmed down "antivirus". sorry cant tell you much more, and probably you googled it before posting, but here it is anyway

P.S. seems like it runs in the background, so although mcafee claims it doesnt slow down your computer, i would remove it since you already have a "real" antivirus

If I find any software that I didn't put there myself, I trash it. Especially anti-malware etc, because some of it is malicious in its own right and I am happy with what I currently use.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to remove it - I'm not in need of more AV and, yes, I'm vaguely annoyed, and concerned, about software appearing on my machine like this. Though I may have been in one of those situation where I'm could have checked the box saying I don't want the Google toolbar, Yahoo toolbar, MacAffee security scan plus, .... etc.
