I am a novice formula writer and I am working on a spread sheet for a non-profit group. I am trying to search a name in a certain column on a master sheet and return the entire row to another sheet. The column on the master sheet contains more than one row with the name I want to search. Can you help?

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
I do not believe a formula can do this.
I believe you would need to use Vba

And any time you need help it's always necessary to provide specific details

1. You said search a column but did not say what column.
And we need both sheet names

And we need both sheet names

Sheet 1 is labeled Master and Column B contains town names. Sheet 2 is labeled Albion which is a town name. From sheet two I want to search column B of Master for Albion and when found return the entire row that contains Albion in it to Sheet two.

Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
How about in A2 filled down & across
=IFERROR(INDEX(Master!A$2:A$8822,AGGREGATE(15,6,(ROW(Master!A$2:A$8822)-ROW(Master!A$2)+1)/(Master!$B$2:$B$8822="Albion"),ROWS($A$2:$A2))),"")
