Hi,

I have the following formula that works fine

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("Radio",Q301)),"Radio Protocols","")

What I would like to be able to do is search for 3 names instead of 1 (Radio), but return only "Radio Protocols" for any 3 in the search.

Appreciate any help.

Cfer

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Hi, here is one option you can try:

=IF(SUM(COUNTIF(A1,"*"&{"radio","name2","name3"}&"*")),"Radio Protocols","")

DEAR CFER

MODIFIED YOUR FORMULA USING SEARCH

=IF(ISNUMBER(LOOKUP(2^15,SEARCH({"RADIO","NAME2","NAME3"},A1),SEARCH({"RADIO","NAME2","NAME3"},A1))),"Radio Protocols","")

=LOOKUP(9.99999999999999E+307,SEARCH(SearchList,Q301),ResultList)

where SearchList is a range which contains search items to look for and ResultList a range with the corresponding return values.

Thank you all for responding,

I thought I had replied earlier, sorry for that.

I get the result I want , with the variations above.

Thanks again. Cfer
