Hi Guys, I am trying to search through a CVS file that has a date/time stamp in column "A", I want to search for the current date and have it tell me know what row it starts in.
The date / time stamp is "10/03/2018 08:22:24:510 "

any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Is the stamp a number? 10/03/2018 08:22:24:510 looks like a string to me.

=MATCH("10/03/2018*",A:A) will find the first row with that date in the string.

Thanks, but still having issues.

this works
Code:
a = WorksheetFunction.Match("10/03/2018*", Range("A:A"), 0)

this does not work
Code:
CD = Format(Date, "mm/dd/yyyy") ' + "*"
a = WorksheetFunction.Match(CD, Range("A:A"), 0)

what am i doing wrong?

Thanks
Rick
