Hi- I'm having trouble with data that I'm exporting from a database. One of the fields is a 16-digit number that is formatted as text in the database. However, because all of the data is numeric, when it is opened in Excel, it is displayed in scientific notation. I have tried reformatting the cell as text and number (and that works) BUT the last digit is truncated and a zero added.
I've tried formatting a blank column and copy/paste, but the data seems to be already lost in excel so it is giving me the full data but with the zero at the end. NOTE: I can see the data correctly in Notepad, I'm just loosing the last digit in Excel.
As an example, the file shows: "1234567891234567" and Excel shows: 1234567891234560
The data in question is acct. number data that is 16-digits long so it is being used as text and not for calculation. Is there a way I can open this data is Excel to display it in full?
Thanks for any help.
