Can anybody please suggest a good scanner software which you have tried and found good in converting scanned data sheets into Excel worksheet.
I have tons of data on paper which I need to scan and convert to Excel worksheet. I am currently using a software, but it's not good enough. When I drag the scanned page into Excel link most of the time just turns out gibberish on the Excel worksheet. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
One way, which might be too time consuming, is to scan to Word, copy the table, then using Paste Special in Excel, paste as Text. This seems to put everything into their correct columns, with just a bit of formatting to do.

And some other ideas:

1. Scan to PDF and use software like PDF Converter to turn it into Excel.
2. Use the Word files like Marbles suggested, save them as Text, and import the text files to Excel
