I would like to know if this is possible. You can use Excel to scan in a Barcode from various products, it scans into a cell and either you autotab or click to the next cell to get the next barcode. When you sell a product like books you notice that certain data is consistant accross related business be they other book sellers, wholesale book sellers, publishers, etc. In terms of books these consistant details depends upon the barcode which contains the ISBN. Is it possible to set up a spreadsheet that not only scanned in the barcode but the other information related to that barcode, like title, retail price, publisher, etc? Is there way to have this infomation scan into the spreadsheet when you can the barcode?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
You can certainly use a barcode scanner to scan a barcode number into a cell but it isnt going to get any information about the product. You need to provide that.

In order for the other info to populate you would need to have access to an ISBN database to lookup the info base on the ISBN you scan.
Search for ISBN database. there are a bunch of resources.
