Hello

Hope someone can help me with the below please. I am new to this forum so I apologize in advance if I am unclear.

I have a work book in .xlsx format that I wish to save as to another file in .txt format.
I need to do this without prompts every half an hour, overwriting .txt file each time.

The originating (xlsx) file is always left open so does not need to be closed after processing each 30 mintues.

any help appreciated

Thanks Chris

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Filename:="C:\Users\myName\Documents\Book1.txt", FileFormat:=xlText
Application.DisplayAlerts = True

Thankyou that worked perfectly. May I ask you to assist once more?
Once the new .txt file is created it is then opened on-screen. How can I have the save as occur but not open the newly created file?

Thanks advance for your help.
