I am trying to modify an existing database. When I go into the design view in the query I can make changes, but the save function is not available under the file menu. If I close the design view it reverts back to the previous setting. Any suggestions on how to get around this. I'm using Access 2000.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Is it an older database? If you open an older version you will be prompted initially, but not thereafter. Close your database. From Access' menu choose Tools, Database Utilities, Convert...
See if this helps you. I know that you cannot save changes if you open a previous version unless you update it first...
