Just wondering if anyone here is planning a trip to South Africa for the world cup? Roll call....

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Jon

Have you seen the prices, distances etc?

I've heard loads of sport's phone-ins about the World Cup.

A lot of people just can't afford to go.

Some people are just going to make a base in one city rather than travelling throughout the country for all their team's game.

One thing I'm pleased about is that the time difference (if there is any - not sure about that) means the games will be played at 'decent' times.:)

I'm still recovering from watching the Winter Olympics closing ceremony - 5am I think it finished.

Don't quite know why I watched it.

Yes the prices and distances are very off putting. It doesn't appear that the distance to SA is much too blame, but rather the distances between events. And the domestic airfares are also pretty darn steep!

I'm moving back to SA around June (after 11 years in UK). Fortunately I have sorted accommodation in advance because those prices are through the roof too. I'm moving to Stellenbosch which is close to Cape Town so pretty sought after region for tourists.

For time zones, we (UK) will be in summer time so SA will only be 1 hour ahead.

Still, if anyone is going then let me know. Maybe we can get together for a braai and some beers. :)

Would love to go but I'm with Norie, the prices are ridiculous.

If there's any room in your shipping crate Jon let me know and I'll happily stow away ;-)

I'm quite small, could I fit in too?

It's been a pretty bleak winter here and I could use some sun.

I could even pretend to support England if needed.:)

Ah, nice 28 day luxury cruise! I may have some room Dom ;-)

Jon - you might need to leave a few things behind to make room for enough beer/wine to keep me going for 28 days, and a couple of bags of peanuts.

Norie - I don't mind who you support but can you bring some dancing girls for entertainment?

Dom

Well knowing how much you drink Dom I suspect I'd need a separate container! :eeek:

Norie, the more the merrier. In fact if the party is on the ship maybe I'll save on the airfare and stowaway too. :)

That's pure hearsay and utterly unproven!!!

Will the container be refrigerated?

If not an large quantity of Chateau Neuf Du Pape will surfice.

Join us indeed although I think 14 days would be funny but not sure even I could stomach the hangover from that after 28. Maybe you could have a fast boat collect us as a shuttle to SA!
