I can't answer your question directly because I know very little about your database and how the form is constructed from the information you have provided. Hopefully I can point you in the right direction.
To create a running sum on a form, I recommend you have a read of this web page.
To create a grand total on the form have a look at this web page.
To create a running sum on a report (like you described but on a report instead) have a look at this web page - about three quarters of the way down.
