In Excel 2010 I open a new workbook and posted numbers as below AND in Column E I enter =sum(????) and as I click on 10 Column E1 Showed 10, then click on 50, column E1 showed 60 same cell,
then click on 100, column E1 same cell kept a running total as I click on the different numbered cells REGARDLESS OF ROW OR COLUMN THE NUMBER WAS CLICKED ON. I cannot figure out how I did it; OTHERWISE AT the bottom right corner of excel you SEE WERE THIS IS HAPPENING--average at bottom, count at bottom, and SUM OF SELECTED CELLS.I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IN COLUMN E1 ON SAME CELL WHAT FORMULA YOU WOULD USE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN....REALLY
HAS STUMP ME????? IT WORKED GREAT BUT I LEFT BEFORE I COULD SEE HOW TO DO IT or see the formula row to see what it said.

Column A, Column B, column C, column D Column E
10 50 100 200 Formula? WHERE FORMULA WAS ENTERED (THIS IS WHERE WHEN CLICKING ON NUMBERS IT KEPT RUNNING SUBTOTAL
20 60 110 220
30 70 120 230

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
