Running Excel from a remote desktop or server!

Excel friends, I have an excel financial model with some VBA code used by several people located in many countries. I would like to keep them using always the most updated version, and also having some sort of security ID, passwords, VPN, etc. The users should be able to access or read the workbook in a remote server running excel from there, but do not write or download the workbook, maybe just print results in their closest printer or save a few resulting excel cells in a server SQL database with the help of a macro.

Is it possible to do with Excel 2007? If so, where can I get a step by step explanation of the process to get this done? Can it be done with Excel 2010 or 2013?

All the users have a licensed Excel 2007 in their own PCs, can I assume no other licenses are needed to run and access it in a remote server?

Thanks for your help!

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
I suspect you'd need something like Terminal Services, so you'd need a server and licences for each remote worker

At a previous company, we used to do it through Sharepoint. Sharepoint set the security so that defined roles controlled what someone could do.

EDIT: That was with Excel 2003, so I would not expect more recent versions to have problems.
