rs 232 communication

Dear, i hope someone can help me, i'm looking for a few days already to make with vba from excel to make a serial communication and nothing seems to work.
I googled already everything i guess ,
What i need is a rs232 communication on com port 1 first to send the command "WT" then i should see a value in a cell but until now nothing seems to work, hope to find here some experts
to find a solution.

I would be very greatfull to get some help im not so very good in vba.

Thanks, but i dont see here the use of a serial com. port
im looking for something like :
com1 = "9600,n,8,1" ...
so i write a code to it and the response should be a number that must appear in a cell
