Retrieving a Value in a table from a Variable

Hi guys, this might be an easy formula but I cant figure it out and would like some help! I have some data that is being provided by a thermocouple and I would like the value to be automatically updated in column H1 corresponding to the F column table. I have tied with Vlookup formulas but cannot get this to work

=VLOOKUP(B6,D4:F17,3,0)

This assumes the value in B6 is EXACTLY the same as one of the values in column D.
If you want nearest value without going over the value in D change the 0 in the formula to 1.
