Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
thank you for your reply!

i have one more question i am trying to work out length of service so i thought i could use the same formula.

so B2 would be there start date and then i would need to know what the date and year would be 5,10,15,20 years from there start date.

i changed the -8 to +10 and it didnt work...it multiplied the years....

Can you help

Thank you x

Hello,

alternativey use

=EDATE($B2,(65*12)-8) for the retirement date

and

=EDATE($B2,5*12) for 5 years service,

change the 5 for other years of service.

Hello,

depends on how you determine 10 weeks

=IF(39814-B1>70,"10 WEEKS","")

this checks for 70 days.

=IF(B1<39744,"10 weeks","")

this checks for a start date before 23/10/08.
