*** UPDATE *** My bad, I didn't realize the array was wrong (i column only!)! :crash: Spent with this about an hour! Can't find how to delete a post neither. SORRY.

Hi all,

I got some great help from this forum previously, so I thought I'll return.

I am trying to do a simple VLOOKUP function between 2 tabs in the same Excel file, but I keep getting a REF error.

The data in tab "Data" is formatted as a table - may it have to do anything with that? Also when I do the VLOOKUP to return the first column, it works OK.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thank you!

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Re: VLOOKUP #REF! Error - Checked everything

Your lookup array is just one column so you cant say please use column 2...

Re: VLOOKUP #REF! Error - Checked everything

Your VLOOKUP is only referring to one column (Personnel Number) but you are asking it to give you the second column in the reference.

You have to highlight both columns (Personnel Number and Last Name).
