Reserved Error (-1601); there is no message for this error??

Hi to all you lovely troubleshooters in MrExcel.comland.

Any ideas about this message? I have a form with many fields on it. The problem occurs when a user adds something to a field which is blank by default, then changes an existing field by using a drop-down box. When they try to move onto the next record, they get the following message:

 Reserved Error (-1601); there is no message for this error

If they OK this message (the "Help" is no good, just refers to MS product support), they get the following message:

 You Can't Save The Record At This Time.

Database may have encountered an error while trying to save a record...

Does anyone have any ideas what's going wrong? It's a very very simple database, so I can't figure it out...

Any help would be overwhelmingly appreciated...

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)

Suat, you're a star!!

Out of interest, how did you find that page? I went on the Microsoft site and typed in the error message letter by letter, but nothing came up...

Many many many thanks, though. You've helped me out no end.

In case anyone else in future is reading this, the way I fixed it was to simply un-index that field (as it didn't need to be indexed in the first place). Might not work in all cases, but did the trick for me.

Thanks again,
CSBBB.

PS : I recall that I met this error about indexes - 1601, weird error, I don't know what kind of error can say "there is no message for this error" LOL!! So found the link by using error number and "index" keyword.
