Hi, I have what is probably a really simple problem but I'm going round in circles!

I have a report based on a cross tab query. I'm trying to total 2 columns of the cross tab, using the unbound text box with the control source: =SUM([PAC]+[Complete]) this is returning a nonsense value and I have no idea why!

Any help/thoughts on this would be much appreciated!

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
what section of the report desing did you place the control? You can't calculate in the page footer if that is where you put it

I suggest running the report wizard against that query (be sure to click on "Summary options" in the process), creating a new scratch report, and comparing what you have to that. You might even copy/paste from the scratch table to yours.

Don't feel bad. For the longest time, on earlier Access versions, I wondered if it was impossible for me to insert a total on a report. The only way that ever worked for me was to use the wizard!
