When I print out a report I run on access it doesn't alway fit on the page.
Is there a way to scale it down so it always fits on the page no matter what printer I use.

thanks steve w

Excel Facts

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
Hi Steve

During the design stage of your report Access will always warn, when the section width of your report is greater that the page width. In other words there is too much detail on your report to fit into the page width.

Have you tried resetting your page margins using "File" and then "Page set up"?

I am not sure what else your problem could be!

Cheers

Access, for no good reason, will sometimes reset your page setup properties (1" margins all around, portrait etc.).

To my knowledge, to intervene and manually set these requires some rather annoying api coding.

is where my search started,

and ended up:
http://www.mvps.org/access/reports/rpt0009.htm
with some good choices.

In general, www.mvps.org is a great place, the api section is awesome.

Not exactly an answer, but my research led me to just tell my clients of the problem, blame it on MS (it is there fault, though check your version), and just have them deal with it.

If the problem is occuring when you use differnt printers then all that you can really do is to make sure that you leave sufficent margin to suit the worst printer.

Access will not let you scale reports in the same way that Excel will.

If you use A3 reports then you will need an A3 printer installed to even be able to view it properly.
