Hi All<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I am trying to replace the link by month to an external workbook.

In Excel 2003 I could use Find and Replace and search on \[Oct09.xls], and find almost 2000 entries. I would then change this to \[Nov09.xls] and it would update all the entries.

Since we have moved to Office 2007 Find can not find \[Oct10.xlsx], and so the Replace will not update the data.

If it does find the link it take me to the folder where the workbook is, but I have to click on the workbook to get the link to open, and with almost 2000 entries this should be able to be done more quickly, as it was in 2003.

There must be an easier way of doing this.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Try instead using Edit Links:
Pick the old workbook in the links dialog and hit the button to Change Source... Then browse out to the the new workbook and choose it.

You should only have to do this once and all links will be updated.

Note: Your find/replace method *should* work too, but you may want to be sure the "Old" and "New" workbook are open when you do this - Excel should recognize it without prompts that way and you should have fewer problems this way. Nevertheless, using the edit links dialog is probably best.
